Economic Development is responsible for the business attraction, expansion, and retention efforts for the City of Corona.
The major objectives of Corona's economic development team are:
- Seek and attract quality businesses to locate and expand their sales, facilities, and employment.
- Conduct business communications, outreach, and retention activities.
- Redevelop and revitalize blighted commercial sites.
- Guide establishment of a diversified local business base to provide growing sales and property tax revenues to the City to support municipal operations.

The pro-business attitude of the Economic Development Program reflects in the Team Corona concept. City officials actively work to make the transition of a business a smooth one by exploring incentives, site selection, and other avenues of support. When appropriate, the Team expands to include the California Trade and Commerce Agency, Riverside County Economic Development Agency, Inland Empire Economic Partnership, Southern California Edison, the Gas Company, and the Workforce Development Board.
Use of Team Corona, with the Economic Development Division participating as "first contact" for the developer/business owner, brings new businesses to Corona every year and retains the companies that are already here.
Before you enter into any purchase, leases, or rental agreements, check with the Community Development Department to verify whether your proposed business is allowed in the zone you are considering. Please contact the Redevelopment Department at (951) 736-2260 with your questions regarding zoning.
