Vehicle vs. Pedestrain Collision
On December 22, 2009, at approximately 4:14 PM, officers of the Corona Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in the parking lot of 735 Corporate Yard Way.
Upon arrival officers learned that Garrett Butler 27 years old of Ontario, was driving a City of Corona Ford F-350 pick up truck southbound through the parking lot. Butler is a City of Corona Public Works employee. Kenneth Dagenais, 66 years old of Riverside, was walking eastbound through the parking lot when he was struck by the truck being driven by Garrett Butler. Kenneth Dagenais is a retired City of Corona employee who was hired as a consultant to work on the new police station.
Kenneth was treated at the scene by Corona Fire Department paramedics and was transported to Riverside Community Hospital. On December 23, 2009, Kenneth Dagenais succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Corona Police Department Collision Response Team.
