CORONA SENIOR CENTER

The Corona Senior Center is a multi-purpose facility offering a wide variety of programs and activities and a place for senior citizens to participate in educational programs, receive human services, enjoy recreational activities, and socialize. The Center welcomes all adults age 50 and older.

Location and Hours

The Corona Senior Center is located at 921 South Belle Avenue in Corona, California. The hours of operation are:

Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. - 9:00  p.m.                        
Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Sunday: Closed

Recreational Activities

A variety of recreational activities are available at the Center. Senior citizens coming to the center may take dance lessons, play bingo, watch movies on a big screen television, learn to paint or play a game of pool. Also offered is a full range of classes including art, quilting, ballroom dancing and line dancing, crocheting, topiary, computer skills, and bridge.

Fitness and Health Programs

The Center promotes healthful living by offering numerous health and fitness programs. Fitness programs include women's and men's exercise classes, chair exercise, flexibility and balance class, and an exercise room. The Center's exercise room allows seniors to experience a balance workout on several types of equipment, including two treadmills, recumbent bike, a rowing machine, and various free weights.

Health programs include daily blood pressure screening, monthly blood sugar screening, and monthly nutritional and health workshops.

Human Services

The Corona Senior Center offers paralegal assistance, HICAP counseling, tax-preparation assistance, home delivered food, and renter's and homeowner's assistance.

Lectures and Workshops

Educational and informative lectures - hosted by various agencies - are available for seniors to attend. Understanding Medicare, achieving a healthier lifestyle, and reducing medical costs, are some of the topics addressed at the Center.

Special Events

Throughout the year, the Center hosts several special events including a Senior Health Fair, Thanksgiving Luncheon, and various holiday functions.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are sought by the Center to serve as program/activity assistants and to help with clerical work, pack food bags, assist in the Reading Library and various other positions. Professionals such as nurses and doctor are also needed as instructors or to provide services at the Center.
