H1N1 Influenza Facts & Preparedness
The symptoms of 2009 H1N1 flu virus in people are generally the same as for the seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue. With the 2009 H1N1 flu virus, some people may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, including 2009 H1N1, and have these symptoms but without a fever.

It is contagious and can be transmitted by person-to-person contact. You can safeguard yourself by following good hygiene practices such as:
Frequent hand washing
Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth
Stay home from work/school if sick
Get vaccinations
- Seasonal flu
- H1N1 (as soon as possible)
- Schools will be providing clinics for children through the County Health Department
- Or contact your health provider
