Stan Skipworth, Mayor Pro Tem

Stan Skipworth was elected to the Corona City Council on November 7, 2006 and currently serves as the Mayor Pro Tem. He is a member of the Council's Finance, Legislation, & Economic Development Committee and Joint Schools Committee. Mayor Pro Tem Skipworth also represents the Council on the Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) Executive Committee and the Riverside County General Plan Advisory Committee. He has previously served as Chairman Pro Tem of the City's Planning Commission, a member of the Council's Public Services Committee, and as an advisory member of the Planning and Infrastructure Committee.

Mayor Pro Tem Skipworth is the Police Chief at the California State University, Long Beach Police Department. He is also a facilitator of leadership and ethics programs and has presented to professional organizations, colleges and high schools.

Since choosing Corona as their home in 1992, Mayor Pro Tem Skipworth and his wife Michell have become actively involved in a variety of community and school programs.  Since the late 1990's, he and Michell have been strong advocates of child adoption, particularly from within Riverside County, and they have adopted six of their family's seven children.  For their continued support of children in the region, they were recognized by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors in November of 2009.
