Karen Spiegel, Mayor

Mayor Karen Spiegel was elected to her first term on the Corona City Council in 2002 and previously served as Mayor in 2006. She currently serves on the Finance, Legislation, & Economic Development Committee and the Public Services Committee. Mayor Spiegel also represents the Council on the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), Executive Committee for the League of California Cities- Riverside Division, Riverside Orange County Authority (ROCA), the State Route 91 Advisory Committee and the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) Board. 

A 25-year resident of Corona, Mayor Spiegel is an active member of the Corona community. She is the owner of a local e-commerce/publishing company. Mayor Spiegel has been involved in numerous business, civic and community activities, including the Corona Chamber of Commerce, Soroptimist International, PTA, Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV), Trauma Intervention Program (TIP), UNITY Board, Corona Fire Safety Foundation Board, the Foundation for Community and Family Health, Congregation Beth Shalom, and  the Woman's Improvement Club. Mayor Spiegel has been honored for her community service with several awards including being named the "Woman of the Year 2009" by Senator John Benoit. 

Mayor Spiegel, and her husband Bobby, have five children. She graduated from the California State University in Long Beach and did her graduate studies at Pepperdine University, receiving a Masters Degree and holds a Marriage Family Counseling (MFC) license.
